Headshots

Headshots is a series expressing my own anxieties and the dichotomy between the stoic exterior and the restless mind. Juxtaposing my own face against my naked body, I am interrogating my sense of self and my own self-perception. Creating this series was a means for me to interrogate my own fears of expressing myself and putting my body out as a spectacle for viewership.

Refining my technique from what I learned working on my Exhibitionist series, I explore the artist's role as the center of attention. Artists by the very nature of their roles demand the spotlight and command the audience's attention. As an artist, I often question whether I am up for such a task, and what are the possible ramifications of such work that draws so much focus on myself.
